Grégory Coston, Ney
Interested in oriental music, it was during a stay in Cairo that Grégory began studying the Ney with Mohammed Fouda and Laith Suleiman.
Upon returning to France, he joined Brahim Dhour's course in Arab music in Toulouse. He also joined the Mediterranean Ensemble, which he directs. He has preformed a wide repertoire maghrebin.
He has pursued a number of projects with local musicians, including performances in Arab music, world music, and classical music.
He also builds neys, which enables him to interact and work with performers throughout Europe and the Arab world, including trips to Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and Palestine. Several musicians today play on Neys Grégory has built.
Currently he plays the Ney in the Mediterranean Ensemble and the Jussour Ensemble.
